Germany (and a lot of the rest of Europe) is just insane with some of their laws. None (or almost none) of the countries have the death penalty, even for someone who so desperately deserves it. I mean, here is a guy so off his nut that he kills a guy and then eats them. However, just because the victim asked to be eaten, the sick turkey only gets eight years.
The fact that the victim wanted to be eaten is irrelevant. Whether or not Meiwes was seeking any sexual gratification from the murder is irrelevant. The only thing that should be relevant is that this guy is a sick, twisted man, is a danger from society, and needs to be removed from general circulation permanently.
